Roland Dennis Hussey Papers, 1920-1959

Roland Dennis Hussey (1897-1959) was a professor of history at UCLA (1930- ), and chairman of the History department history (1950, 1952-54). During World War II until 1947, he was assistant chief of the Office of American Republic Affairs, and divisional chief of the Office of Intelligence in the State Department. He wrote articles and books on Latin American history, was a contributing editor for the , and editor of . The collection consists of transcripts and microfilm of documents and manuscripts relating to Hussey's historical research. The materials are from the archives and depositories of Great Britain, Spain, and Latin America, and include an index and Papeletes, or summaries, to many of the documents.
